In 2012 we worked with Regeneration Consultant Juneed Asad on the Publicity Campaign for the Argall Industrial Park in Leyton. North London Business was commissioned by the BID Company at the Park to secure a “yes” vote from its many tenants in the forthcoming BID Renewal Ballot. The Argall BID area is home to a diverse range of 350 businesses and employs many local people. The Campaign aimed to engender a stronger sense of community within the Park—not many of the tenants know each other, or the work they do—and to foster a sense of care for their mutual workplace. Gaining a “Yes!” vote would ensure further improvements in key issues raised by the businesses: Security, Access, Infrastructure and the Environment.
Using the existing BID logo and adapting the colours from the previous, successful, campaign, we worked with Juneed to create a set of photographs and publicity materials. Canvassers worked the Estate talking to the businesses and we made two tours of it, taking pictures of the tenants, and documenting improvements from the last five years for our “before and after” strategy. We developed a range of primary graphic materials to focus the branding of the BID, including a main brochure explaining benefits of the BID and a range of banners and signboards. It was a successful campaign, with the businesses voting to continue the BID for another five year term.
